Wild Horses Safari
From Windhoek back to Windhoek: 11 days, 10 nights -
first and last night lodged, 8 nights camping under the stars.
Day One: Arrive Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako Airport – we arrange a transfer to your overnight
accommodation. Pre-dinner briefing and safety talk by your guide. Overnight Windhoek
Day Two: Transfer to the desert with lunch en-route arriving in camp in time for sundowners in an idilic setting
Days 3 to 8: off we go! This is trackless desert, no roads, no paths, only animal tracks. We cross 27 km of
the Namib dune sea - you need to be fit for this!
Days 9+10: We end our ride among the mountains near Aus, visit the wild horses and the quaint town of Luderitz
Day 11: Departure for Windhoek Int Airport arriving around 16:00
internet: Consider yourself ‘unplugged’ while on safari – cell-phone reception is minimal at best and internet not at all except in cities and larger towns. There are 12 volt usb chargers in our vehicles for small devices, not for large power-packs.
Laundry: Water is a very precious commodity in a desert so while it is possible to rinse a few smalls while on safari, only lodges and hotels have laundry service. See our packing list for our recommendations on what to bring.
Insurance: Having comprehensive medical insurance is a condition for riding with us. You will be required to sign an indemnity which assumes you have read our Riding Policy in which you will discover we take the well-being of our horses very seriously. For their sake, please be accurate about your weight, riding ability and fitness.
Rate Includes: Riding, accommodation, Meals and drinks on the ride – excluded are drinks at lodges/hotels. Ground transfers from Windhoek Int Airport
